Ms. Wendy graduated summa cum laude from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. She was named Outstanding Senior in the Marketing Department at ECU. While at East Carolina, she was a University Scholar and a member of the ECU Dance Team! She also studied ballet and modern at ECU, after dancing since she was 4. Ms. Wendy has taught at Main Street Dance since 2004.
Sarah Bailey, a Main Street Dance Alumni, attended Wake Technical University. Ms. Sarah has been at Main Street Dance longer than anyone else! After growing up dancing and assisting with classes at Main Street, Sarah started teaching classes, and has been at Main Street ever since! Ms. Sarah has been teaching at Main Street Dance since 2000.
Catherine Britt, a Main Street Dance Alumni, graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreational Therapy with a Minor in Disability Studies. In college, she taught dance classes to kids with disabilities through an organization called Dance Ability. In her current role as a Recreational Therapist, she teaches a dance class to her patients that promotes the management of mental health. Ms. Catherine has taught at Main Street Dance since 2020.
Jenny Hegarty Wendt, a Main Street Dance Alumni, graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. While at Campbell University, she was a member of the Campbell University Dance Team. Ms. Jenny completed the Disney College Program where she worked as a Fairy Godmother at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Jenny is a certified Acro instructor through Acrobatic Arts. She has completed both Module 1 and 2 certification. Ms. Jenny has taught at Main Street Dance since 2015.
Kim Mayes is originally from East Tennessee where she grew up clogging! She attended Carson Newman College and Meredith College. She has competed and performed clogging all across the region at venues including Dollywood and the Grand Old Opry. Ms. Kim has taught Clogging for over 20 years, and has taught at Main Street Dance since 2013.
Christy McFadyen, the front desk coordinator, has a travel agent certification and a veterinary technician certification. When Christy is not working at Main Street, she runs a private catering business where she cooks for an average of 30 to 40 people a day, four days a week! She also develops her own recipes and puts them together in her weekly menus. Ms. Christy has worked at Main Street Dance since 2008.
Mary Rosalyn Naylor, a Main Street Dance Alumni, graduated summa cum laude from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. While at Campbell University, she was a member of the Campbell University Dance Team. Mary Rosalyn completed the Disney College Program. As an educator, Mary Rosalyn has worked in Preschool, elementary and middle school classrooms. Ms. Mary Rosalyn has taught at Main Street Dance since 2015.
Whitley Naylor, a Main Street Dance Alumni, graduated from Jacksonville University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance Performance. While at Jacksonville University, she was the captain of the Jacksonville University Dance Team. Whitley is currently a Head Instructor and Choreographer with NDA, the National Dance Alliance, where she works with high school and college dance teams. Whitley was first runner up to Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen in 2015. Ms. Whitley is currently working in Entertainment at Walt Disney World!
Jocelyn Naylor O’Kane, a Main Street Dance Alumni, graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Business Management. Jocelyn placed in the Top 10 at Miss North Carolina two years in a row. Jocelyn is a certified Acro instructor through Acrobatic Arts. She is certified in Module 1 and Module 2. Ms. Jocelyn has taught at Main Street Dance since 2011.
Taylor Jones graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a concentration in Performance and Choreography. Taylor is from Wendell, North Carolina, and has been dancing at studios in Wake County since she was three years old! Taylor loves to teach jazz, contemporary, and modern! We are so excited to welcome her to the Main Street Family this season!
