Our Petite Company is our youngest competitive company. Petites are made up of 7-10 year olds. They all take Jazz, Tap, and a company class. They can add Ballet, Acro, Clogging, and/or Hip Hop as extras. Petites dance in two Christmas parades; they each compete 3 dances in two regional competitions every spring; and they also perform in our Petite Company Showcase in May of each year. Petites attend an annual Petite Choreography camp in the summer where they learn choreography for the coming year. In Petite Company the dancers not only learn Jazz and Tap technique, they also learn stretching techniques, how to work as a team, commitment to a common goal, self confidence, stage presence, and so much more. Dancers that start as petites in the program often times end up making their best friends, and graduating from high school together, dancing the whole way through.
Our Petites graduate to our Premier Company. The Premiers are made up of 9-12 year olds. All Premiers take Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Jazz technique, and a company class. They can add Acro and/or clogging optionally. At different points during the year they also learn hip hop, lyrical, and contemporary during their regular classes. Premiers participate in an annual Choreography Camp where they learn choreography for the coming season. When you reach the Premier level you are invited to audition for competitive small groups (tap, jazz, and lyrical), and also the Main Street Mini’s. Premiers are also given the opportunity to do a solo and/or duet for competition. This company performs in our annual Christmas Show, 2 Christmas Parades, 2 regional competitions, and our Premier Company Showcase in May. If you do a solo or duet, you are also invited to dance in our annual Solo/Duet Show. Being a Premier gives you a lot of performance opportunities, and it also furthers your jazz, tap, and ballet training, as well as provides you with other fun style exposure.
Our Junior Company is made up of mostly middle school aged dancers. They all take Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Jazz technique, and a company class. Juniors are also invited to add Acro and clogging optionally. Our juniors are in the studio two nights per week. They attend and annual Summer Choreography camp where they learn choreography for the coming year. They perform in our annual Christmas Show, 2 Christmas Parades, 2 regional competitions, and our annual Junior Company Showcase in May. Juniors are also invited to auditions for competitive small grups (tap, jazz, and lyrical), and they can also audition for CDT (our competitive dance team that meets every day of the week). They can also do a solo and/or duet for the competitive season. As a part of our junior curriculum we bring in several guest artists during the year, and the dancers also learn lyrical, hip hop, and contemporary as a part of their curriculum.
Our Elite Company is our oldest company. It is made up of high school students. They all take Ballet, Tap, Jazz, technique classes, and a company class. They also take classes in contemporary, hip hop, and lyrical. You can add Acro and/or clogging optionally. Elites perform in all of our annual Christmas Shows, 2 Christmas Shows, 2 regional competitions in the spring, and also nationals in the summer. Our Elites also perform in all 11 of our spring recitals and showcases including our annual Senior Showcase. Elites can audition for competitive small groups, and also CDT (our competitive dancer team the meets every day of the week). During the year, the Elites have various guest artists that come in and teach different styles.
